Hawks' Committee

The Hawks' Club Junior Committee is charged with the running of the Club's affairs and ultimately has final say on all its activities. In practice the Junior Committee represents the views and caters for the needs of the Club's resident members.

The Committee is elected annually at the end of the Academic year, being announced at the annual May Week Hawks' Event. Only resident members may stand and vote. The committee is comprised of the Club President, Honorary Secretary and eight other general committee members.

President: Patrick Crossley (CURUFC)

Secretary: Benoit Ramsay (CUGC)

Pat has the honour of being in overall charge of the Hawks' Club. He is charged with representing the resident members to the Board and Management Committee and with maintaining and furthering the image of Hawks and their Club both within and outside the University. He is the Club's Premier and Ambassador. If you have any general queries or suggestions then get in touch on president@hawksclub.co.uk

Pat is studying Theology at Homerton College and is a Rugby Blue.

Danny Ryan (CUFC)
Ian Ralby (CULC)

College: Gonville & Caius
Curse: Medicine

Danny has competed in 6 Varsity Matches (so far), winning 4 (1 as Captain) along with 4 BUSA Team champis. He considers his greatest achievement to be wiinning the British Champs with his Cambridge/Brentwood team.

OTHER: He has a patch of fur(?)

College: St. John's
Course: PhD, International Studies - Law

08/09: In a year from which he's unlikely ever to recover, Ian not only co-captained the men's lax blues in a very successful season (winning 15 out of 18 league matches and even defeating Slovenia's top team!) but also found the time to juggle his PhD and the small matter of presiding over St. John's May Ball.

He promises to give this much and more to the Hawks' Club this year.

Sporting Hero: Ed Reed
Greatest Achievement: The jury is still out.

David Saunders (CUHC)
Stuart Jackson (CUHC)

College: Emmanuel
Course: Medicine

Deano plays hockey, very well. So well that he was named man of the match in the '08 Varsity Match (his Greatest achievment).

In 2008/09, Deano captained the CUHC whilst also serving on the Hawks' Committee.

Sporting Hero: Beth Wild
Nicknames: Deano, Delia.
Other: Aspires to work with womens breasts in the future.

College: Girton
Course: History

Stuart follows in Deano's footsteps as a CUHC Captain also serving on the Hawks' Committee.

Claims his greatest achievement is surviving Huntingdon Road during rush hour every morning. Some, however, are quick to express their skepticism regarding the truth of these claims. Why on earth is the man up at this hour when his only lecture of the week takes place in the UL tea room on Wednesday afternoons?

Sporting Hero: Andy Fordham (shares his attitude to nutrition in sport - or at least he used to).

Flynn Castles (CUAC)
Shane Francis Seamus O'Mara (CUBC)

College: St. Catharine's
Course: PhD, Engineering

A 400m runner, Flynn is single-handedly representing the CUAC on this year's committee after the departure of Collins, Andy, Humps and Harper. He's got some big boots to fill, but we're sure he's up to the challenge.

Greatest Achievement: Building a raft, "HMS Floaty Floaty" with Andy Owen & co last March in Ibiza.

Sporting Hero: Michael Johnson

College: Hughes Hall
Course: Land Economy

Shane is a very accomplished rower - a former international (USA) and the holder of all USA junior records for single scull events.

When he's not on the river and he's feeling lonely, he enjoys putting on maroon lipstick (and asks you, please, not to judge).

Greatest Achievement: Making any jacket by AE Clothier look good
Favourite Athlete: Keanu Reeves in Point Break

Hardy Cubasch (CUBC)
Joey Wheeler (CURUFC)

College:
Course:

College: St. Edmund's
Course: Archaeology and Anthropology

Joey is a double Rugby Union Blue, being part of the team who defeated Joe Roff's Oxford in 2007 and narrowly lost out in a fantastically entertaining game last year.

Greatest Achievement: Winning VM '07, surviving Oxbridge tour to Tokyo
Sporting Hero: Jamie Gilbert, for proving that disability is not a disadvantage
Nickname: Weasel
Other: Bears President 08/09, CURUFC Social Secretary 08
